IEP Teams and Communication 

Now that you have learned about the effective use of media in communicating information, here are a few different media formats for conveying the importance of communication with the IEP team. The following information is meant for you to develop your interactions with students, families, and administrators. These can also be saved as future resources for when you are part of an IEP team.

First, here is a podcast by an award-winning special education teacher and director of education at the National Down Syndrome Conference. In this podcast, Ashley shares practical strategies for Building a Collaborative IEP Team.

Next, we must be able to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with the families and guardians of our students. The family or guardian is the best source of information for us in knowing our students. Below are a few resources on working and communicating with families.
