Case Study: IEP Goals & Objectives for Suzy

Think, Write/Record, Share

Revisit Suzy’s case study from earlier in the chapter and apply the insights gained to the following tasks:

1. Craft an IEP Goal for Suzy Utilizing the SMARTIE Framework: This goal should be Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-bound, Inclusive, and Equitable. Ensure it addresses a key area of need identified in Suzy’s case study, setting a clear direction for her learning and development.

2. Develop Three Short-Term Objectives Aligned with the Goal: These objectives should break down the main goal into smaller, actionable steps. Each objective needs to be directly related to supporting Suzy in reaching her overall goal, providing a roadmap for her progress.

Ensure that each objective adheres to the principles of being specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound, reflecting a structured approach to achieving Suzy’s individualized educational goals.
