  • Explain what a volcano is and distinguish between the different volcano shapes and eruption styles.
  • Explain how magma type and plate boundary location control volcano shape and eruption style.
  • Describe the eruption hazards and eruption materials and explain how they pose a risk to life, property, and/or the climate
  • Describe the data geologists use to monitor and predict volcanic eruptions
  • Interpret data to predict volcanic unrest and eruptions
