Introduction to Science

This introductory chapter provides background on what science is generally and what geology is as a science, specifically. It also provides a refresher on the scientific process. A guide to how to interpret scientific diagrams and figures is given – so please refer to this as needed throughout the semester to help with analyzing figures. Science relies on figures that provide a lot of information and learning how to “read” this visual form of information is an important skill that will greatly improve your understanding of scientific content!
