Jamie Utt: Intent vs. Impact: Why Your Intentions Don’t Really Matter

This brief article reframes the conversation around getting called out (or, as we like to approach it, called in) when our language or behavior is inequitable. As every person, no matter how well-intentioned, is affected by systemic white supremacy, it is likely we will commit a microaggression or otherwise exhibit behaviors that are inconsistent with our work in these groups. Read through this article and think about how this perspective may help you hear those who call you in.
